Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman has been an outstanding professor of psychology since 1993, and the director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children and using child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous publications and many awards to her credit and is the recipient of a variety of international and national prizes. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is also a fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
