Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, was released for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are among the artist's high-profile recordings. Katy Perry's praise for her song Runaway via a blog post gave the artist some additional acknowledgement. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic then becoming enthralled by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music as a passion rather than a profession. They encouraged her to compose. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her favourite songwriters. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not to gain fame with her music, but rather to help those around them see the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began writing music at age nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora wasn't a dream. As she says, she just likes to write songs. According to her, the songs she creates are how she feels about any thing.
